ENVISIONING A NET ZERO BUSINESS
Burlodge is committed to reaching net zero emissions across our value chain by 2045.
We have partnered with Bioregional to measure our Scope 1,2 and 3 emissions, identify our carbon ‘hotspots’ and create a data-driven carbon reduction plan to help us achieve net zero by 2045. Our emissions targets are science-based, aligned with guidance from the SBTi.
Some of the actions we have completed so far:
ROADMAP
To execute our sustainability plan, our roadmap governance outlines the following key steps: embedding sustainability into our core operations, enhancing training and skills, fostering collaboration with stakeholders, and improving data and monitoring.
Burlodge has committed to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions 42% by 2030 and 90% by 2045.
Burlodge has also committed to reduce absolute scope 3 emissions 30% by 2030 and 90% by 2045.
To achieve this, these are the key areas we are focusing on:
Working to decarbonise and improve the energy efficiency of the buildings we manage, including our offices and factories.
Working to switch our vehicle fleet to hybrid and electric.
Working to reduce the cradle to grave impact of our products and working with our suppliers to decarbonise our supply chain.
Working to reduce the resource and energy use of our products through design and technology, and prioritising reuse and repair.
Working to reduce our travel impacts, from the movement of our staff to the third-party transport in our supply chain.
BURLODGE PRODUCTS, DESIGNED WITH EARTH IN MIND
We’re constantly measuring and evaluating our actions and impact to be kinder to the planet. That starts with creating robust and reliable equipment that lasts longer, reduces the need for frequent replacements, and minimises waste.
It comes to us naturally, creating equipment that is designed for durability and longevity. From locally sourced high quality key raw materials in Italy to our Planned Preventative Maintenance services and the provision of easily replaceable spare parts, we are committed to sustainability at every step of our products’ lifecycle.
Our newest Class-e range has been engineered with enhanced sustainability, evolving from the previous product range, now featuring recyclable components, energy-efficient technology, high-density CFC, HFC and HCFC-free insulation for better temperature retention and the use of R290 low GWP refrigerant gas.
